Ecoyaco is a scientific organization founded in Colombia in 2012. It has offices in Bogota - Colombia. This organization aims to generate knowledge of high academic level through international partnerships, all focused on sustainable development. Since its creation, Ecoyaco has been dedicated to promoting scientific research and collaboration between different institutions and experts in the field. Thanks to its focus on sustainability, Ecoyaco works to find innovative and practical solutions that contribute to the care of the environment and the well-being of communities. Ecoyaco's main task is to carry out studies to promote sustainable development.
Environmental consulting in development projects
Ecoyaco is an organization that is capable of developing the following activities:
1. International consulting in development projects
Monitoring of physical, chemical and hydrobiological characteristics of lotic and lentic ecosystems. Monitoring biodiversity in terrestrial ecosystems. Studies of heavy metals and bioaccumulation factors in food chains. Characterization of soil banks. Training on environmental issues. Implementation of Big Data.
2. Studies for development and infrastructure projects.
Development plans, environmental management plans, environmental impact studies and risk management in watersheds. Evaluation of greenhouse gas (GHG) fluxes in aquatic ecosystems. Development of cartographic tools for spatialization of ecological issues.
3. Studies in lotic and lentic ecosystems
Design and execution of monitoring programs in rivers, lakes, lagoons and reservoirs. Characterization of phytoplankton, zooplankton, periphyton, benthic macroinvertebrates, aquatic macrophytes, ichthyoplankton and fish. Numerical management through descriptive statistics, inferential statistics and multivariate methods.
4. Academic studies to support management and leadership needs
Elaboration of studies with scientific rigor, as support to specific requirements of environmental authorities. Physical, chemical and biological modeling of lakes, reservoirs and rivers.
5. Water resource management plans
Execution of field and office activities for the characterization of aquatic ecosystems fulfilling the scopes for the elaboration of the Water Resource Management Plan according to the requirements of the regional environmental authorities. Development of studies for the elaboration of strategic plans for the management of macro basins in Colombia.
